    • The Party was established in 2018 by the South African Council of Messianic Churches in Christ
    • It is rooted in the ideology of humanism believing that there is only one God and only one race, the human race
    • It aims to transform South Africans to a better society that upholds and lives by the values of Peace, Ubuntu and Good Governance.

With couple of months to go before the 2019 General Elections, the voters have been presented with another alternative to consider when making that important X. The African Transformation Movement (ATM) was launched in North West at Rustenburg’s Ben Marais Hall on the Saturday 13 October 2018.

The party was established in 2018 by the “South African Council of Messianic Churches in Christ (SACMCC) and is registered with the IEC.

SACMCC is a congregation of African Independent Churches (AIC) of which majority of its members are not represented in the governance of the country; but are mostly negatively affected by lack of service delivery, and for that reason are still lingering in abject poverty.

According to the party, the non representation of their members in governance of the the country “manifests itself more on socio-economic matters which include religious affairs in the country.”

This and other matters of governance, like lack of social cohesion and tolerance, provoked the need to form a political party that will serve the most marginalised people of South Africa and the greater good of South Africa

In response to a question about what is different about the party, the ATM said theirs is a party ‘formed by the people and not politicians who have broken away from other political parties.’

ATM on what makes them different from other parties.

Furthermore the party said their main objective is peace and their ideology is humanism, meaning they believe that ‘there is only race’ and that ‘the notion of rainbow nation is false.’

ATM on their main objective and ideology and the difference between them and other parties.

African Transformation Movement was first launched in Mpumalanga before launching in Gauteng and North West respectively. It will be launched in other provinces in the coming months before unveiling its full manifesto in December 2018.
