Itsoseng: North West. A 22-year-old Letlamoreng Kaudi was Thursday 16 May 2019, sentenced to seven years imprisonment for kidnapping and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm. Kaudi’s imprisonment at the Itsoseng Regional Court follows an incident in August 2017 where he kidnapped and assaulted a 10 year old boy, and then demanded ransom money from his parents. Two men aged 46 and 53 from Namibia were Friday 17 May 2019 arrested by the Western Cape Flying Squad for being in possessing of presumed uncut diamonds with an estimated value of R1.5 million. Vote counting in the 2019 National and Provincial Elections has reached the final stages with the Independent Electoral Commission’s (IEC) vote capturing process at 99.96%, shortly after 11:00am. According to the leader board at the commission’s national Results Operation Centre (ROC) in Pretoria, not only was the vote capturing process at 99.96% but valid votes cast had exceeded the 17 million mark.
