    Four more employees infected with Covid-19 at Rustenburg Municipality

    All the recipients of today’s results are in self-isolation and will be monitored by officials from the Department of Health in line with the established protocols for Covid-19.

    Four more employees at the Rustenburg Local Municipality have tested positive for Covid-19. The Municipality confirmed in a statement on Saturday, 27 June 2020.

    Consequent to the Covid-19 tests that were undertaken by the leadership of the Municipality and officials as part of the Municipality’s safety measures against the possible transmission of Covid-19 on Wednesday – 24th July 2020, some of the test results have been received, confirming 4 new positive cases within the institution.

    According to the statement, one case has been confirmed within the office of the Executive Mayor as well as one in the office of the Single Whip. Two Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMC’s) have also received their test results, which also have been confirmed as positive, for Covid-19.

    All the recipients of today’s results are in self-isolation and will be monitored by officials from the Department of Health in line with the established protocols for Covid-19.

    In his reaction, the Executive Major of Rustenburg, Councillor Mpho Khunou wished those affected speedy recovery saying the confirmation of the results shows that, the road ahead is long and we need to keep a positive attitude to ensure that we overcome this pandemic.

    To the MMC’s and officials of the Municipality we wish them strength during this time, as they adjust to their new reality. We wish them a speedy recovery with the full hope of returning to good health . We will continue to ensure that we offer them the necessary support throughout this process Since the first Covid.
