The Constitutional court in Zimbabwe will today and tomorrow 22-23 August 2018, hear arguments in the recent elections matter brought by the opposition MDC Alliance.

The lawyers for the MDC Alliance filed papers in court on 10 August 2018 challenging election results proclaiming Emmerson Mnangagwa as president.

The Country’s Electoral Commission declared Mnangagwa the winner of the poll held on 30 July 2018, but the opposition MDC Alliance leader; Advocate Nelson Chamisa has maintained that the elections were rigged.

WE NEITHER GIVE UP NOR GIVE IN..The past 38 years signified missed opportunities and neglected advantages. Zimbabwe must now move on not move around. Taught by the errors of the past, we stand ready to challenge all lies, contesting all deceptions until final victory.#Godisinit

Meanwhile the Zimbabwe Republic Police has informed people who will be attending the court that they will not be allowed to carry electronic gadgets like cellphones, laptops, cameras and other recording devices.

The ruling ZANU-PF has welcomed the court challenge by the opposition.
