    More than half of KZN libraries left without internet since April

    The DA in KwaZulu-Natal says more than half of the clinics in the province have been without internet connection since April.

    The party says this was confirmed by the Head of Department in the Province’s Department of Arts and Culture, Ntokozo Chonco during a portfolio committee meeting held recently.

    In a statement released by the DA’s Spokesperson on Arts and Culture, George Mari, the party says out of the 226 libraries in KZN, 125 have been without internet since April.

    The DA is stunned by this disclosure which affects more than half of the libraries in the entire province. It is difficult to comprehend why the MEC and her Department have allowed this untenable situation to drag on for almost six months.

    The party says it has today 22 August 2018 submitted a written parliamentary question to the MEC aimed at establishing why an alternative service provider has not not been brought in and to ask when the internet services will be restored at the affected libraries.
