A 36-year old suspect was found in possession of heroin and Paracetamol tablets with a value of R600 000 on Wednesday, 4th July 2018.

According to a statement released by the SAPS KwaZulu-Natal Media Centre, the Provincial Drug Unit members acted on information about the drugs from Tanzania that were to be mixed, packaged and then distributed. The mixed value of the drugs is said to be R2 million.

The heroin was found in a packet and the tablets were found in a jar. The drugs were about to be mixed and packaged to Durban areas.
“Further investigation was conducted and it was established that the flat was rented to be used as a drug lab to manufacture drugs,” the statement read.

The suspect will appear tomorrow, Friday 6th June 2018 at the Durban Magistrate Court on charges of manufacturing and dealing with drugs.
