The Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality supported the Retladirela Service Club’s year-end fun-walk event on 8 November 2024, held at Z Section Park in Jouberton. The event aimed to promote social and economic development through healthy living initiatives for elderly women in the district.

The event, organized by Retladirela Club Chairperson Mrs. R.K. Sindi, aligned with Key Performance Indicator 60 of the Service Delivery Budget Implementation Plan (SDIBP). The initiative, supported by the Office of the Executive Mayor’s Gender Coordination Desk, also aimed to enhance the District Development Model (DDM) One Plan.

Participants began the walk at Z Section Park, proceeding through Nkang-Matlhale Secondary School circle, via Stop 5 corner on Thamaga Street, and along Phela-Indaba Drive, before returning to Z Section Park.

The day’s celebrations concluded with snacks, a braai, and dancing, providing a festive atmosphere for the community.

The Retladirela Service Club’s initiative highlights the importance of promoting healthy lifestyles and social cohesion among elderly women. The event is part of broader efforts by the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality to engage with local communities and support development projects.
