    60 year old Kimberley man arrested for raping a 7 year old child

    Two other male suspects aged 29 and 30, who are the victim’s nephews, were also arrested for raping the victim also since January.

    Members of Kimberley Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit have arrested a 60-year-old man today 26 June 2020 in connection with the rape of his seven year old stepdaughter.

    According to Police statement, It is alleged the victim was abused since January 2020 until yesterday, 25 June when the ordeal was uncovered. 

    Two other male suspects aged 29 and 30, who are the victim’s nephews, were also arrested for raping the victim also since January.

    It has also been discovered by the Doctor who performed medical examination on the girl that she has been infected with sexually transmitted diseases.

    According to Police, the victim is in a safe place, receiving the necessary assistance from the SAPS Northern Cape Forensic Social Workers.

    The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lt Gen Risimati Peter Shivuri has strongly condemned the abuses by people who were supposed to look after the child.

    The Provincial Commissioner has applauded members of the Kimberley Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for making sure that the suspects are arrested in order to face the full might of the law.

    The suspects are expected to appear before the Kimberley Magistrates court on Monday, 29 June 2020.

    Brigadier Nicky Mills, the Provincial Head of Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit strongly indicated that any attempt by the three heartless suspects to be released on bail will be vehemently opposed.
