The vicious cycle of removing homeless people from public places continue as Law Enforcement and Task Team members conducts various operations in and around the Municipality to clear bedding and other possessions belonging to the homeless from parks, cliffs and along the coastline and on the mountain.
Like most parts of the Western Cape and the entire country, Overstrand has its fair share of the homeless who seek refuge in public spaces.
Usually accused of doing crime, authorities find themselves having to remove homeless people almost on daily basis from parks and also patrol the cliff paths on regular intervals to maintain visibility.
Homeless people sleeping in parks and or on streets find their way back to the same areas as they do not have anywhere to go.
