    Durbanites are encouraged to commemorate World Aids Day and take advantage of health services that will be offered by the city on the day. 

    According to the City’s Acting Head of Communications, Mandla Nzele, events of the day will be attended by Mayor Zandile Gumede and COGTA MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube. The event will be held at Siripat Sports Field in Reservoir Hills.

    The commemoration is part of the worldwide activities observed to remember people who lost their lives as a result of HIV/AIDS.

    The theme for the day is ‘Checka Impilo. Know Your Status’ and health services to be rendered during the day are TB Screening, HIV testing, pap smear and blood pressure tests amongst others. The day will be commemorated on 01 December 2018 at 11H00, with provision of health services starting at 08H00.
