    Wellington wins the ABSA Cape Epic Best Town Award

    The town of Wellington in the Drakenstein municipality has won the 2018 ABSA Cape Epic Best Town Award. The award ceremony was held at the Diemersfontein Wine & Country Estate on 17 May 2018.

    The Wellington Huguenot Primary and High Schools also won the award for the international race best stage location.

    Speaking of why Wellington is a choice destination for the race, Glyn Broomberg, Head of Race Operations for the ABSA Cape Epic said:

    The Drakenstein region and specifically Wellington has been a firm favourite with the ABSA Cape Epic for a number of editions of the race. Not only are we able to provide riders with an awesome riding experience due to the extensive trail network in the area, the town of Wellington and it’s people are a pleasure to have on board.

    The town of Wellington was previously awarded the prize as the Best Voted Stage Location of the ABSA Cape Epic in 2015 and 2013.
