    North West Education COVID-19 cases at 170 as at 01 July 2020.

    The total number of COVID-19 infections within the North West Department of Education is 170 as at 01 July 2020. The Department confirmed in a statement.

    According to the Department, Sixty-four new Covid-19 related cases have been confirmed between Monday, 29 June and Wednesday, 01 July 2020.

    The district breakdown include two (2) cases for Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati, twelve (12) for Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, sixteen (16) Ngaka Modiri Molema and 34 for Bojanala district making it an epicenter for the provincial department. Some of these reported cases are people who have been infected from out of our schools.

    The Department has also confirmed One recovery of a learner who was lodged at a quarantine site.

    Education MEC Mmaphefo Matsemela expressed that there will be more recoveries.

    This recovery brings a silver lining to the department as we continually monitor the wellbeing of those under quarantine sites. We are hopeful that more recoveries will come through. We remain hopeful and believe that the recovery numbers will increase exponentially.

    The North West department of education sends well wishes to the families that are infected and affected as we continue to offer psycho-social support.
