    Police have condemned the alleged rape of the victim especially by the suspect who was supposed to protect her as his mother.

    Mboya Village, Willowvale: Eastern Cape. Willowvale Police have Saturday 01 June 2019 arrested a 28-year-old man for alleged rape of his mother aged 50.

    According to Police Captain Jackson Manatha, it is alleged that the victim was raped on Friday 31 May 2019 while walking home from a local tavern at Phaphasini Locality, Mboya Village in Willowvale.

    The victim felt some footsteps from behind. She continued walking until the person from behind grabbed her. She was dragged far from the road and the suspect accosted her. She was then raped by the suspect.

    Manatha has indicated that the victim identified the suspect as her own biological son.

    The suspect will appear before the Willowvale Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 03 June 2019 on a charge of rape.

    Butterworth Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu congratulated Willowvale Police for their swift and expeditious re actions in tracing and arresting the suspect.
