City of Polokwane: Limpopo. R1500. 00 is all it took for a 45 year old Seshego District Court Attorney to be arrested by the Hawks.

Police Captain Matimba Maluleke has said in a Media Statement that the suspect, who is due to appear in court on Friday 10 May 2019, demanded the R1500. 00 as bribe to withdraw a case related to driving under the influence of alcohol.

The complainant reported the matter to the Hawks who swiftly conducted an undercover operation that culminated in the arrest of the suspect in her office soon after accepting a bribe.

The suspect was arrested by the Hawk’s Serious Corruption Investigation members for alleged corruption, extortion and defeating the ends of justice today, 09 Thursday 2019.

According to Maluleke, the preliminary investigations reveal that the case of driving under the influence of liquor against the complainant was indeed withdrawn.
