DJ Maphorisa, Xduppy and Kabza De Small have won the CAPASSO Most Streamed Song of the Year award at the 32nd South African Music Awards for “Abantwana Bakho,” featuring Thatohatsi, Young Stunna and Nkosazana Daughter.
The award was announced at SAMA32 on Saturday night at the Sun City Superbowl in the North West, recognising the song’s streaming performance during the eligibility period.
“Abantwana Bakho” was one of the major amapiano collaborations in the SAMA32 field. The recording brought together DJ Maphorisa, Xduppy and Kabza De Small, with Thatohatsi, Young Stunna and Nkosazana Daughter also contributing to the track.
The song’s SAMA32 success was not limited to streaming.
“Abantwana Bakho” also won Best Collaboration, giving the recording a double victory at this year’s awards.
The Most Streamed Song of the Year award recognises the recording that achieved the strongest streaming performance, making it a measure of audience consumption rather than a genre-specific judging award.
