Villagers in Thakgalang, Limpopo, are walking about 10 Kilometres to access healthcare.

This has been revealed as the DA in Polokwane Municipality is preparing to donate building materials to build temporary clinic structure for Thakgalang villagers.

According to the DA Councillor in Polokwane Municipality, Engelina Malatjie, the Department of Health in Limpopo has failed to build a proper clinic in the area for the past five years. As such residents are forced to go to either Seshego or Mmotong clinics which are both over 10 Kilometres away.

The Party says that although a mobile clinic is provided for the community once every week, not all patients are attended to and patients are forced to stand in the sun since there is no shelter to provide cover.
