Theewaterskloof municipality is inviting public comments about the development of the property next to the Caledon Nature Garden. The property includes Die Venster Restaurant.

When answering the question posed on the Municipality Facebook Page, regarding where the suggested development info can be viewed, the municipality responded thus:

The deadline for submission of comments is 28 May. Thereafter suggestions will be collated by the consultant and a feasibility report will be prepared and presented to the TWK [Municipality] local economic development office at the end of June. Once the report has been received it will be shared with Council and the public via the TWK website.

The Municipality furthermore stated that although the Gardens themselves will not be developed, they will ultimately benefit from the development of land surrounding them.
With regards the kind of development envisaged for the site, the Municipality said:

No development type is planned at this stage. The nature of the development depends on the outcome of the feasibility study, which will be determined by the comments and input from the public and business sector.

The Municipality invites the public to direct all input and comment to Lauren Roode at Urban Econ Consultants by calling (021) 447 3449.
