The blackout started on Friday 14 December 2018 morning. In a status notice posted on their website Axxess notified that there was no ETR. Five days after the blackout started, there is still no word from either Cell C or Axxess as to when service will return.
Axxess and Afrihost customers using Cell C LTE network have been left without internet connection since Friday 14 December 2018 and have taken to social media to voice their frustration.
Axxess acknowledged the issue and posted a Mobile Network Notice at Friday 14 December 2018 informing customers that Cell C/IS engineers were investigating and that they would update with feedback once received. Customers were notified that there was no ETR at the time.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and at the time of writing, Tuesday morning and still no internet. No further notice was posted regarding what the issue is and how long before it is resolved.
Attempts to get comment from Axxess and Cell C drew a blank. Questions sent to Cell C Media desk were not responded to and Axxess consultant we spoke with told us that they were not allowed to give direct contact details of staff. We sent questions to their feedback email and they were also not responded to.
After being hit by similar blackout at the beginning of December 2018, Cell C blamed it on electricity load shedding that had hit across the country; but the power utility have on Thursday 13 December 2018 just before the current outage, announced that there would be no planned load shedding across the country for the rest of December, thus ruling out the possibility of load shedding being the cause of the current Cell C LTE Axxess blackout.

Without any feedback and solution for days, customers have taken to social media to complain and the only solution they have been given is to reboot; provide the affected numbers; provide their contact numbers; provide their location and provide their email.

As there is no ETR and no explanation as to what the exact cause of the current outage is, Axxess, Afrihost and Cell C LTE customers seems to have to just wait for the service to maybe return today after a long weekend.
