North West Premier Job Mokgoro has said his 100 days of office have been tough, uphill battle but necessary.
Mokgoro was reflecting on what his government has done since he became Premier in June after the ruling ANC was forced by Community unrests to recall former Premier Supra Mahumapelo.
The immense challenge post June 22 was to ensure that there is stability in the Province…the confidence that the party that leads in government had lost, we had to start the process of restoring that confidence
Job Mokgoro
According to Mokgoro, in order to restore the confidence of the people in the government, as government they had to engage with various communities and structures ‘to say we recognise there have been mistakes and yes we are committed to correcting those mistakes and are indeed marching forward.’
Whereas there has been a vacuum, we have worked very hard with the support of leaders from national level…we are delighted to say that we are on course, we have people on the ground working in teams
Job Mokgoro
According to Mokgoro, the Provincial Task Team leaders were already on the ground dealing with matters of service delivery and addressing concerns by the people.
