    Minister of Home Affairs Thursday 06 September 2018 launched the collect your ID campaign at Home Affairs office in Polokwane in preparation of the coming elections.

    Minister Gigaba said that in Limpopo alone there are over 4100 ID cards that have not yet been collected. There is over 2500 uncollected ID cards in Polokwane. Over 2K in Polokwane

    The implication is that without the ID’s the applicants will not be able to register to vote.

    He said the Department will work together with municipalities and political parties to ensure that the ID’s are collected and assist with registration for elections.

    Limpopo IEC chairperson Nkaro Mateta said it takes around 41000 for a politica party to get a seat in the legislature.

    The acting Executive Mayor of Polokwane Cllr Kganyago said the municipality will work together with IEC and the department on the campaign.
