    Douglas back at the helm as Knysna’s acting Municipal manager

    • Douglas was Knysna’s Municipal Manager from 2006 to 2011
    • He is credited with taking the Municipality to greater heights during his tenure

    Knysna Municipality has on Tuesday, 17 July 2018, resolved to appoint Mr Johnny Douglas as acting Municipal Manager. Douglas will act for three months.

    The current Municipal Manager, Kam Chetty has served the notice to the council and Douglas will commence duties at the conclusion of this notice.

    Douglas was the Municipality’s Municipal Manager between 2006 to 2011. During that time Knysna was rated as one of the top performers in the Western Cape.

    According to the 2010 Municipal Productive Index, Knysna Municipality was rated as the third top Municipality in the Province and the Municipality further received several Blue and Green drop water accreditations under his stewardship.

    Apart from the appointment of Douglas, Council further appointed Directors of Community, Corporate and Technical Services.
