Police are investigating a murder case after a 33-year-old woman was found dead from multiple stab wounds following an argument with her boyfriend at their home in Extension 12, Kanana, near Orkney, on Saturday night, January 24, 2026.

According to police, the couple arrived at their residence when neighbors heard them arguing. During the commotion, the woman fled the house, jumped over a fence into a neighboring yard, and knocked on the neighbor’s door seeking help.

When the neighbors opened the door, they found the woman lying on the ground, with her boyfriend also present at the scene. The neighbors immediately called for an ambulance and the police, while the boyfriend fled in the woman’s vehicle.

Upon the arrival of police and the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), the woman was declared dead at the scene. She had sustained multiple stab wounds to her body.

The suspect, the woman’s 33-year-old boyfriend, who also sustained serious injuries, was traced to Kroonstad shortly after the incident was reported. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital under police guard.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Orkney Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, facing a charge of murder. The investigation into the matter is continuing.
