Police in KwaZulu-Natal dismantled a drug syndicate on Friday, 12 December 2025 arresting Two Foreign Nationals, one from a West African country and another from a central African country, along with a local South African woman believed to be a girlfriend of the West African Foreign National, for possession and dealing in drugs. Authorities seized narcotics valued at an estimated R1.6 million.
According to Police, the operation targeted suspects accused of supplying drugs to youth in Umzinto and surrounding areas.
Officers intercepted the main suspect, the West African national, while he was driving.
Crystal meth was found concealed under the driver’s seat, along with cash suspected to be crime proceeds. His vehicle was seized, and a search of his Malangeni residence uncovered additional drugs hidden under a bed.
A follow-up search at the South African woman’s residence recovered cocaine, crack cocaine, and crystal meth.
The final search at the central African national’s home on Nelson Mandela Road yielded nearly 5,000 heroin capsules and almost 800 kilograms of heroin powder.
The three suspects are due to appear in Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court following processing.
