    Two killed, two injured in Eastern Cape family shooting

    In an unrelated news, a Northern Cape man is expected before court for poisoning his girlfriend to death

    Police in Eastern Cape are looking for suspects who shot and killed two family members and injured another two on Friday, 14 August 2020 at about at Ngxoki A/A in Ngcobo.

    According to Eastern Cape Police, It is alleged that the 60-year-old woman was at her homestead together with her children watching television when unknown number of suspects entered the house and started firing shots towards them. 

    The 60-year-old woman and her son, 32, were fatally wounded while the daughters aged between 10 and 17 sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to hospital for medical attention.

    Police have opened two cases of murder and attempted murder and are following the leads to track and trace the suspects.

    Meanwhile Police have appealed to anyone who can assist the investigation with any information that can lead to the arrests of the perpetrators to contact Sgt Luzuko Gcelu at 0738251930 or 047- 5480017.

    Meanwhile in the Northern Cape, a 29 year old suspect from Plooysburg is expected to appear before the Douglas Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 17 August 2020 following the death of his girlfriend.

    According to Northern Cape Police, the suspect was arrested following the ‘mysterious death’ of his girlfriend, after eating what Police said is ‘food allegedly laced with a poisonous substance.’

    The Police Brig Mohale Ramatseba, said investigation into the murder is continuing pending post modem results.
